Lovia ("we", "our", or "us") is operated by Vallenova Industries Sdn Bhd (Company No. 202501047502), a company incorporated in Malaysia. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Lovia mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service").

By using Lovia, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with any part of this policy, please do not use our Service.

Information You Provide Directly

• Account registration details — full name, email address, password
• Profile information — date of birth, gender, bio, interests, location (city)
• Profile photos and media you upload
• Messages and communications with other users
• Reports or feedback you submit to us

Information Collected Automatically

• Device information — device type, operating system, unique device identifiers
• Usage data — features used, screens visited, actions taken within the app
• Log data — IP address, access times, app crashes and performance data
• Push notification tokens for delivering notifications

Location Information

We request access to your approximate location to show you potential matches nearby. Location data is used only for this purpose and is not stored continuously in the background.

• To create and manage your account
• To display your profile to potential matches and facilitate connections
• To enable real-time messaging between matched users
• To send push notifications about matches, messages, and activity
• To send transactional emails such as OTP codes and account verification
• To enforce our Terms of Service and community guidelines
• To improve and personalise the Service through analytics
• To prevent fraud, abuse, and ensure platform safety
• To comply with legal obligations

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We share data only in the following circumstances:

• With other users — Your profile information (name, photos, bio, age, interests) is visible to other users as part of the core functionality of the app.
• Service providers — We share data with trusted third-party providers who help us operate the Service (see Section 8).
• Legal requirements — We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government authority.
• Safety — We may share information to protect the rights, property, or safety of Lovia, our users, or the public.
• Business transfer — In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Your data is stored and processed using the following infrastructure:

We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS/TLS encryption for data in transit, bcrypt password hashing, JWT token authentication with refresh token rotation, and rate limiting to prevent abuse.

While we take all reasonable steps to protect your data, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

You have the following rights regarding your personal information:

• Access — You can view your profile and account information at any time within the app.
• Correction — You can update or correct your profile information through the app settings.
• Deletion — You can permanently delete your account via Settings → Delete Account. This removes your profile from discovery and deactivates all your data.
• Notification control — You can manage push notification preferences through your device settings.
• Data portability — You may request a copy of your personal data by contacting us at the email below.

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, your profile is removed from discovery immediately and your personal data is scheduled for permanent deletion within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it longer.

Messages you have exchanged with other users may be retained in anonymised form for safety and moderation purposes for up to 90 days after account deletion.

Lovia is strictly for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If we become aware that a minor has created an account, we will immediately terminate the account and delete all associated data.

Lovia uses the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy:

• MongoDB Atlas (MongoDB Inc.) — Database hosting
• Cloudflare R2 (Cloudflare Inc.) — Media file storage
• Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google LLC) — Push notifications
• Resend (Resend Inc.) — Transactional email delivery
• Expo / EAS (Expo Inc.) — App build and distribution platform

We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these third-party providers. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of any third-party services.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you through the app or by email.

Your continued use of Lovia after any changes to this policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
